Punjab & Haryana High Court Clerk Typing and Excel Test Practice
The clerk recruitment for the Punjab & Haryana High Court and its subordinate courts has a computer proficiency test after the written exam: an English typing test and a spreadsheet test in MS Excel. This series lets you practise both on a screen built like the real one.
Computer proficiency test at a glance
- English typing test on a computer; the qualifying speed is 30 words per minute (WPM).
- Spreadsheet test: 5 questions in MS Excel (2007/2010), 2 marks each, to be solved in 10 minutes.
- The computer proficiency test is qualifying in nature.
How your typing speed is calculated
Net speed = (number of words typed − mistakes) ÷ 10, for the 10-minute test.
Every mistake counts as one full mistake. There is no half mistake: a wrong spelling, a missed word, a wrong capital letter or a punctuation error all count the same.
Example: you type 500 words with 30 mistakes. Net words = 470, so your net speed is 470 ÷ 10 = 47 WPM.
What you practise here
- Typing passages you print and type from, the way the passage is handed to you on paper in the exam.
- A result after every test with each mistake highlighted, your net speed and whether you cleared 30 WPM.
- Excel practice and mock tests for the spreadsheet part.
