SKAU Kurukshetra Clerk Typing Test Practice
The clerk recruitment at Shri Krishna AYUSH University (SKAU), Kurukshetra has a computer-based English typing test. It is not just qualifying: it carries 15 marks. This series follows the university's own formula and its word-by-word typing screen.
Typing test at a glance
- Computer-based typing test in English, 10 minutes.
- Minimum speed: 30 net words per minute (WPM).
- The typing test carries 15 marks: marks = (net WPM − 30) × 0.5, up to 15. So 30 WPM gives 0 marks and 60 WPM or more gives the full 15.
The official formula
Deduction = (errors + skipped words) × 5 strokes. Net strokes = gross strokes − deduction. Net speed = net strokes ÷ (5 × 10).
Example: 2,500 strokes with 20 errors and 10 skipped words. Deduction = 30 × 5 = 150 strokes, net strokes = 2,350, net speed = 2,350 ÷ 50 = 47 WPM.
There is no 5% ignorable-mistakes rule and no 10-words-per-mistake penalty in the SKAU test.
Synchronized typing: how the screen works
- The word you have to type next is highlighted in the passage.
- Pressing Space locks the word; you cannot go back and change it.
- Content typed out of synchronization counts as an error, and a skipped or missed word counts as an error.
